About Qatar
Qatar is a Persian Gulf country located in the east of Arabian Peninsula. Qatar's only land border is to Saudi Arabia and the remaining part of the country is bordering the Persian Gulf. There is Bahrain in the northwest, Saudi Arabia in the west and south, United Arab Emirates in the east and Iran in the north.
Capital of Qatar is Doha. The country consists of 7 municipalities: Ad Doha, Al Rayyan, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Wakrah, Al Daayen and Al Shamal.
Qatar has very hot summers and mild winters. Hottest months of the year in Qatar are May to September and the coldest are December to March. The temperature can reach up to 45 °C during the hottest time of the year and it can reach down to 10-20 °C during the coldest time of the year.

Easiest and fastest mean of transport from Turkey to Qatar is flight. There are direct flights from our country to Doha, available from Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines. Flight takes approximately four and a half hours. Many international airlines have connecting flights to Qatar.
The most preferred mean of transport in Qatar is taxi. Travelling from the airport to the Doha city center takes 10-15 minutes. Besides, it is possible to take a bus or the subway. You can also rent a car from the airport. It is sufficient to have a driver's license and credit card to rent a car in the city.

Qatar's economy relied on mostly fishing and pearl fishing discovery of the petroleum and natural gas reserves. After the 1940s, Qatar's economy changed dramatically as the oil and natural gas reserves were discovered.
